Yerkes has the largest refracting telescope in the world at 40 inches. (Lick is number two at 36 inches.) See the Yerkes link for more information on Yerkes itself. It is no longer a research facility but is used for public outreach and education. The building have some interesting architecture. Enjoy the photos.
